Info - Pannikin Cave An expedition of Australian cave divers made headlines in the whole world in 1988, when they were trapped in the Pannikin Plains Cave after a strong thunderstorm. They were nearly 3km away from the entrance and just have seen the end of the cave as the storm began. Info - Fisherman’s Wharf Unterhalb des Fisherman’s Wharf leben sehr viele wirbellose Tiere und Rifffische. Info - Breakwater Breakwater ist die Heimat vieler Meeresbewohner, wie Tintenfische, Octopusse, Seesterne, Einsiedlerkrebse, Falterfische, Rotfeuerfische, Muraenen, Stachelrochen und viele weitere. Info - Shallow Reef In Tiefen zwischen 4 and 12 m trifft man auf Weichkorallen, Blaue Teufelsfische, Felsenlangusten, Ananasfische, Garnelen, Korallenbarsche, Kaiserfische, Nacktkiemer und Riffische. Info - Das Wrack der Mayhill Die etwa 90 m lange Mayhill war ein Viermaster, der im Jahre 1895 vor der Kueste Geraldtons sank. Das Wrack, dessen Heck das umgebende Kalksteinriff weit ueberragt, liegt heute in einer Tiefe von fast 7 m. Info - Monkey Rock Das Riff bei Monkey Rock faellt ca. 16 m steil ab und beherbergt eine vielfalt von Lebewesen, wie z. B. Rotfeuerfische, Lippfische, Kugelfische, Muraenen, Papageifische, Riffbarsche, Falterfische, Kaiserfische, Suesslippen, Doktorfische, Bueschelbarsche, Skorpionsfiche, Nacktkiemer, Seesterne, haarsterne, Muscheln und andere. Info - Bernier Island Auf der Ostseite von Bernier Island stoesst man aufeinen aussergewoehnlichen Fischreichtum. Auf beinahe allen Tauchgaengen begegnet man Kaiserfischen, Doktorfischen, Riffbarschen, Anemonenfischen, Kofferfischen, Kugelfischen, Feilenfischen, Grundeln. Stachel-Makrelen, Schleimfischen, Lippfischen, Felsenbarschem, Korallenbarschen und Riffhaien. Info - Point Quobba An der Nordspitze der Shark Bay, vor Point Quobba, gedeihen im seichten Wasser wunderschoene Korallengaerten. Riff und Lagune sind von der Kueste aus zugaenglich. Info - Coral Bay Die 155 km suedllich von Exmouth gelegene Coral Bay ist der ideale ort, um mit der Erkundung des Ningaloo reef zu beginnen. Das Riff wird hier von Steinkorallen beherrscht. An der Riffkante leben Schildkroetein, Riffhaie, Suesslippen, Makrelen, Korallen Lippfische und Schwaerme von Barracudas und Stachel-Makrelen. Info - Mandu Wall Wie zahlreiche Tauchplaetze an der Aussenseite des Ningaloo Reefs, faellt auch Mandu Wall fast 21 m tief ab, weist jedoch nur maessig starken Korallenbewuchs auf. Der Fischreichtum ist dagegen ueberwaeltigend: auf einem Stroemungstauchgang kann man Stachel-Makrelen, Barrakudas, Korallen Lippfischen, Korallenbarschen, Suesslippen, Fledermausfischen, Fuesilieren, Eichhornfischen, Riffhaien und zahllosen Riffischen begegnen. Info - Blizzard Ridge Der Grund des Blizzard Ridge, der sich in nur ca. 16 m Tiefe befindet, ist mit beeindruckenden Kolonien von bunten Weichkorallen, Schwaemmen und Gorgonien bewachsen. Info - North West Reef Die Riffwand des North West Reefs weist zahlreiche Graeben, Felsbaenke und Hoehlen auf. Im Schein der Tasehenlampe wird man die leuchtenden Farben der Weichkorallen, Gorgonien und anderer Hoehlenbewohner erkennen koennen.
